Tom McCall's ghost

Gerry Badger has a new website chock full of interesting photos and essays. Portland residents will probably have fun browsing this section. Not only has Badger captured something of the city's appearance, he's mimicked the deadpan Northwest style so popular among Oregon photographers.

My only complaint is the usual one: All of Badger's photos show the city in dry weather which is a bit misleading. It actually rains 350 days per year in Portland. As I write this I'm looking out the window at a vertical sheet of water. So if you're a young photographer thinking of moving there you shouldn't get the wrong idea. Portland is saturated. You're probably better off staying right where you are. Enjoy Badger's site from your warm dry office.
